RFID cards"Secure" report

Channel 9 in California reports on the lack of security in RFID door access cards, and how skimming is easy with parts from the local electronics store.

Skimming is invisible contact less identity theft and includes your RF (radio frequency) credit/debit cards, door access cards and employee badges.

After the signal has been stolen, an old or new RF card can be cloned with the stolen information and used without ever needing a credit check.

RFID lives in many things and can be in anything you possess including jeans and tennis shoes. Passports, credit and debit cards, contact less smart cards, door security cards and cards of all kinds carry these RF chips. Employee badges have RFID monitoring so employers can monitor your whereabouts during your shifts, and now with the REAL ID Act of 2005 initiated by our President and Congress allow them to monitor your where abouts at all times.

The enterprising skimmer can not only STEAL your identity, but they can totally scramble your cards, reprogramming them with whatever data they choose!

Protect your identity, shield your money and guard your family.
